When someone asks themselves,
what is burning man, they usually form an idea of a bunch of dirty hippies on a one-week drug induced sex trip. Although
that doesn't sound too bad, that is not necessarily the idea. Burning man means something different to everyone. For
me it is a weeks vacation from the tangled masses, a place to test then break my boundaries, where people are one and
the true nature of the human soul is expressed. When explained, burning man sounds like a big party, and it is! Burning man
is the celebration of life. It is the best example of harmony in our history. On the playa you will not be judged
or criticized, you can run around naked or as a half man half shark half alligator. Just imagine over twenty thousand
people all together singing the same song just in different tunes. All walks of life travel great distances to be at burning
man but it wasn't always in black rock.

The first burning man was
spontaneously created on Baker beach California in 1986. Larry Harvey and Jerry James constructed an eight-foot tall man and
proceeded to burn him as a gift. Before long many people joined in a circle to watch the flames dance upon the man. Someone
wielding a guitar plucked around on a song and others began to dance. By 1990 hundreds of people came to baker beach
each year to celebrate. This did attract the law and Larry and Jerry where forced to disassemble the man. After determining
that with such a huge amount of burners and the laws that are in place, burning man would have to be moved to the black rock
desert.

And thus brings us to burning man
today. A truly inexplicable experience. To capture it in written or spoken word is not possible. I can only give you a glimpse;
you will have to experience it on your own.... or with a friend, or with five friends.
